The Little Prince

One of my favorite books, Here’s a link. Basically it may be a children’s book at base but every time you read it you can learn something new about life and about just the world in general. It’s not too long so read if you have the time.

Existence

There’s a place where there are people that don’t die. theres nothing there, no tree’s. no sun. no starts. Just sand. Sand and darkness and cold. They sit around an old radio that crackles and makes sounds we wouldn’t understand. At times it sounds like screams, sometimes clicking, sometimes whispering. But since they are deaf they can’t hear these sounds. Since they can’t speak they don’t really communicate. And since nothing but listlessness exists to them they have given up the practice of thought. nobody is sure how long this has been, or if it has ever been any different. Unmoving, they sit in the cold darkness. Wait and exist.

Context: About three weeks ago my girlfriend and i decided to write each-other a story for fun. I composed mine, and a day later she sent me a story about cakes and princes and magic, but i simply couldn’t force myself to send her this, so i hope you guys enjoy it.

Valentines Day

Yesterday was valentines day, and besides walking and finding an amazing little shrine in a park, i decided to try tokyo clubbing with a few hostel friends.

The shrine was very interesting because it wasn’t a tourist destination, so there were no “don’t trespass” tapes or guards or very many people. It was small and wooden with a few rock guardian statues, truly and amazing sight. There was also a blossoming cherry tree, a bit early, but nonetheless beautiful.
Apart from the trivial differences of clubbing in japan, it was very interesting because i was able to make a friend. at first he just wanted to talk for a few minutes in order to practice his english, but after a while we worked out a mutually beneficial scheme where i talked japanese and he responded in english! we ended up exchanging emails and becoming friends when we noticed we had a topic in common: anime. Once basic introductions were over we didn’t have much to talk about, until i brought up one piece, then we were all into talking about our favorite characters and jumping around, japanese people enjoy it when gaijin try talking japanese, and they really like it when i bring up manga and anime because it’s part of their lives too.
I now have his email, and we agreed to meet up and do something on his next day off. I believe this was a big step in making my japanese better!

Boileau said that Kings, Gods and Heros only were fit subject for literature. The writer can only write about what he admires. Present day kings aren’t very inspiring. the gods are on a vacation, and about the only heroes left are the scientists and the poor… And since our race admires gallantry, the writer will deal with it where he finds it…
— John Steinbeck in a 1939 radio interview.

Update

Hey evrybody, it’s been a while.
I’ve been extremely busy lately with college work and applying for SAT’s, i also have work, and i’ve been dedicating a lot of time to my music blog which is going pretty well.
I recently finished reading East of Eden, Lolita, and just obtained a copy of “Party of One: The Loner’s Manifesto”. So far it’s been one hell of a book.
I plan on going back to posting on a more regular basis. I’ve missed reading your posts!

Where to start? apparently, amazing as it may seem, Long Walks on the Beach is Fritz’s DIY bedroom project. All of his songs are recorded on his laptop, and just headphone mixed. How we used to do it ‘back in the day. Fritz lives in Washington DC and is a

metaPhysical is his newest release, out of a total 3. You can tell it’s home brewn and it just adds that extra touch of feeling to the song.

You can visit the project’s page Here.
All the songs are freebie’s :)

Cutest video called “Out of Sight” about a blind girl.

Solitude is an excellent laboratory in which to observe the extent to which manners and habits are conditioned by others.

Snowman Dubstep. Hell of a name. Somehow it mixes a soft vocals and piano with a subtle yet captivating bassline. The odd probably hand made panning of cartoon scieneries really match the video, creating an odd and awe-inspiring atmosphere. I think i might be sort of more obcessed with the atmosphere music brings than the song itself, but that stories for another post.
Enjoy some lovely and classical dubstep.

This is a little video I recorded of my favorite Yellow Ostrich song, WHALE

Since I first discovered Yellow Ostrich they’ve captivated me by their simple beats and overflowing emotion. I recently got an email from Alex at Yellow Ostrich, and turns out a new album just came out. He’s been working on it for over an year, and has included some guest musicians.

The album puts together some of the groups best songs along with some new goodies.
Here’s the catch: yellow ostrich is trying to put out their first physical release. that’s right, on a vinyl. Using kickstarter to try and gather the funds (since there’s no label backing) to record them. I’ve already ordered my copy and even though i don’t have an LP player, amd I have a feeling it’s going to be 100% worth it.

Get the video I made Here.
